Ulfa-I releases second staffer of drilling firm

GUWAHATI: Ulfa-I on Monday released the second abducted employee of a Delhi-based drilling company along the India-Myanmar border in Nagaland’s Mon district, reports Rokibuz Zaman.

(35), a resident of Bihar, was released at an undisclosed location two days after his Assambased co-worker, Pranab Kumar Gogoi (51), was freed near the border in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Both employees were expected to be released on the same day after the banned outfit’s negotiations with the company. Ulfa(I) and the Myanmar faction of NSCN (K) had abducted the two employees of Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Ltd on December 21, 2020 from Kumchaikha hydrocarbon drilling site near Innao, in Changlang, and had held them for ransom.
