#Kolkata: The Election Commission has shifted the returning offices of eight centers in Kolkata following allegations by various political parties. Of these, there are 6 assembly constituencies in North Kolkata The other two assembly constituencies are in South Kolkata

The returning officers of the centers in North Kolkata which have been transferred include Jorasanko, Shampukur, Beleghata, Kashipur-Belgachhia, Entali, Chowrangi. The Returning Officers of Bhabanipur and Kolkata Port Center in South Kolkata have also been transferred

Last September, the Election Commission announced that no officer in charge of elections would remain in office for more than three years. The officers who were transferred on this day have been handling this responsibility for three years As a result, the question arises as to why it took so long to remove these officers even though the decision was made in September Commission officials, however, do not see any irregularities They claimed that allegations against these officers had been lodged at various times by various political parties They have been removed on the basis of 6 A few days ago, the returning officer of Baliganj center was also transferred by the commission
