A  podcast went viral by Tim Cook who has been with apple Inc. past 23 years and serving as its chief executive officer for nearly a decade. Cook when asked about Elon's claim about selling tesla to Apple. He told that he never spoke to Elon but he stated that he has "great admiration and respect" for the company he built. "I think tesla has done an unbelievable job of not only establishing the lead but keeping the lead for such a long period of time in the EV space," without revealing anything regarding  Apple's plan to step into this industry. But later on, many news surfaced that apple is working on an Electric car project and, in december 2020, it was confirmed that apple is indeed still working on a full car, and right now, plans to release a vehicle in three to six years.
