Ludhiana: Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday ordered a magisterial probe into the circumstances leading to the factory roof collapse. The CM, while expressing grief over the loss of lives, announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and directed the district administration to ensure free and prompt treatment of the injured.
According to a CMO spokesperson, the magisterial inquiry would be conducted by the divisional commissioner, Patiala, who would submit his report within two weeks. The CM said strict action would be taken against those found guilty of negligence.
