Assuming you have no weapons on you, the only scenario I can think of is if you hid behind the entrance of a room and bull-rushed the shooter, getting the gun out of his hands. Otherwise you’re just fish in a barrel, right?
Is there any other way?

Is this the only way to defend yourself during a school shooting?

We had a really heavy run of school shootings that COVID put a halt to. I hope it doesn’t pick back up when this sh!t all goes back to normal.
And I’ve heard people get really heated whenever someone tries to chime in and say that maybe someone should’ve talked to the kid/shooter or made him feel like less of a loner because that’s “victim blaming.”

Probably not try to rush the shooter and most people will either;
Freeze completely upon even seeing the gun in the shooters hand or the sound of it firing
Panic straight away upon hearing or seeing the above
Just find cover, help anyone you can without putting yourself in danger and hope for the police to come
If you bullrush the shooter and the gun goes off and a kid gets shot, you're done forif you need someone to chat with, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

1. If you and a small number of people are in a room, the best bet would be to hide in a closet(if there is one)
2. The second best bet, would be to gather up the strongest kids and line them up around the doorway(like you suggested) and surprise bullrush the shooter once the gun pokes past the doorway. You can bait the shooter by having the people against the opposite side of the doorway.
He may get a few stray shots off on the initial grab but that is your only chance.
You have to be very quiet and keep you cool. Take cover behind a doorway and sneak up on him if you get the chance. Chances are, his adrenaline is rushing and he has tunnel vision.

That's why its important to maintain your cool in the face of death. Panic = dead.
Of course, nobody knows wtf is going on so it's going to be difficult to coordinate all of this in real time, unless you are far away from the shooting and can hear the shots go off ahead of time so that you can prepare yourself ahead of time.Last edited by tunafishha; Today at 04:29 AM.

Its a chit scenario and speaks volumes about this country we live in(US).
But to be able to control your adrenaline and come out alive, you have to rehearse and practice what to do if a shooting does occur where you go about in your daily life.

If you hear shots in another classroom, I'd be jumping out windows. If you're the first room he goes into, probably throw something at him. Chair, desk, backpack. anything to make him stop shooting for a second so you can rush him. Even if you get shot, from what I read you may have a few seconds where you can continue depending on where you get shot. Only thing on your mind is to get that gun out of his hands so at least someone else can punch him in the head or something.
