Apple CEO Tim Cook says he never met Elon Musk but admires him ‘greatly’
Sometime in December 2020, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that how during Tesla’s ‘darkest’ days he reached out to Apple CEO Tim Cook. Musk wanted to sell Tesla to Apple but Cook, according to Musk, refused to take a meeting. Now, Cook has shared what he thinks of Musk and Tesla without confirming or denying what Musk was saying.

In an interview with Kara Swisher, Cook said that he has actually never spoken to Musk.“You know, I’ve never spoken to Elon, although I have great admiration and respect for the company he’s built,” said the Apple CEO in the interview.

He further said that Tesla has been doing great things in the electric vehicles space and how much he appreciates the company. “I think Tesla has done an unbelievable job of not only establishing the lead, but keeping the lead for such a long period of time in the EV space. So I have great appreciation for them,” said Cook.

Rumours about the Apple Car have been flying around thick and fast. Musk made the revelation on one of the news reports related to the alleged Apple Car only.

Cook was also asked about whether Apple is developing an autonomous car. He dropped subtle hints but didn’t confirm or deny. Cook said, “The autonomy itself is a core technology, in my view. If you sort of step back, the car, in a lot of ways, is a robot. An autonomous car is a robot. And so there’s lots of things you can do with autonomy. And we’ll see what Apple does.”
