ED attaches Rs 166cr assets in coal mining case

NEW DELHI: A day after arrest of Bankura police station incharge, Ashok Mishra, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) claimed on Monday that it has attached properties worth Rs 166 crore owned by Anup Majee who is facing probes from multiple agencies in the illegal coal mining case and alleged funding of over Rs 750 crore to politicians.
The attached assets include factories and other assets of Ispat Damodar Pvt Ltd and Sonic Thermal Pvt Ltd, situated in Purulia and Bankura in the underdeveloped Jangalmahal region of West Bengal.
