IPL 2021: RCB’s two trump cards Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson start practice, will they deliver in IPL 2021?- Two costliest players in the IPL and RCB camp, Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson have joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad and begun their training for IPL 2021. While Jamieson earned his maiden IPL call for a hefty Rs 15 crore deal, Virat Kohli-led trusted swashbuckling batsman Glenn Maxwell despite his complete failure in the last IPL season, buying him for Rs 14.25 crore.
In a video released by the RCB, Glenn Maxwell was seen hitting reverse sweeps with ease in his first appearance in the RCB outfit ahead of the upcoming IPL season.”Glenn Maxwell’s Day Out @Gmaxi_32 came. Maxwell reverse swept. And Maxwell had fun. Watch The Big Show and Kyle Jamieson at their first practice session for #RCB ahead of #IPL2021,” RCB wrote in a Tweet post along with a video.

Why Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson are crucial for RCB’s title chances in IPL 2021?
Over the years, RCB’s middle-order and death bowling are one of the major concerns that have delayed their maiden IPL trophy. The success of RCB in IPL 2021 is heavily dependent on these two key players apart from skipper Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers. They need to perform well in the middle-order and death overs.
Glenn Maxwell
The batting department was heavily dependent upon Kohli and De Villiers. Devdutt Padikkal strengthened the top order in the previous season but he is likely to miss the first two matches for RCB in IPL 2021. It came as a big blow as he emerged as the second-highest highest run-scorer in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. In his absence, the Australian all-rounder is expected to come up with few match-winning performances and provide a good start for RCB.

Glenn Maxwell IPL record
Glenn Maxwell had a forgetful IPL season last year where he scored just 108 runs and picked 2 wickets. His overall IPL stats are also unimpressive. In 82 matches, he has scored just 1505 runs and scalped 19 wickets. Besides this, his current form is also not that great. The cricketer managed just one fifty-plus score, scoring just 93 runs in the 5-match T20I series for Australia against New Zealand.
But, Maxwell had performed well in BBL that concluded earlier this year. He has slammed 379 runs in 14 matches which included 3 half-centuries.
Kyle Jamieson
Jamieson, on the other hand, got his maiden IPL call for his stellar performance in Tests for New Zealand. He scalped 36 wickets for the Kiwis in just 6 Test matches. Having said that, Jamieson has also failed to replicate his Test success in the recently concluded 5-match T20I series against Australia (1 wicket in 4 matches) and 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh (2 wickets in 3 matches).
