Bicycle taxi captain must ensure that the rider wears a helmet to avoid penalty

Hyderabad: The helm riders’ rule creates problems for the captains of bicycle taxis.

The traffic police have instructed the Bicycle taxis like Rapido, Ola and Uber to ensure that the passengers riding the helmet are used.

However, according to the captains of the bike, the passenger of the rider is reluctant to use the helmet and mentions it for various reasons. The reason most are mentioned is that he does not wear the helmet that others use, which is not good for health.

The other reasons given by the passengers are sweating during the summer season, or the helmet may possibly be the coronavirus.

Munir Ahmed, a cycling captain from Rapido, said: ‘I have never paid challan all my life, as I always maintain traffic rules. I use a helmet regularly and keep all the documents in order. But I was shocked when I was fined Rs 150 on March 23 for refusing a passenger to use the helmet because he was afraid of coronavirus. ”

According to Munir Ahmed, he tried to convince the passenger to wear a helmet, but the passenger asked him who would be responsible if he had the coronavirus by wearing an unhygienic helmet.
