As the country is seeing a drastic surge in the COVID-19 cases, many Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and several others came in contact with the deadly virus. A day after, Akshay Kumar confirmed that he tested positive with an official statement on social media, it was reported that 45 crew members on the sets of his upcoming film 'Ram Setu' have also tested positive for COVID-19. The tests were mandatory as the shoot of the film was set to begin at a new location in Mumbai. While more than 100 people were tested as a precautionary measure, the results of 45 came positive, and then the shoot has now been halted. Ashok Dubey, general secretary, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) told a leading daily, 'Ram Setu has been taking full precautions. It is really unfortunate that 45 people from our Junior Artistes Association have tested positive. They have been quarantined'. Now, according to a source, both the leading ladies of the film, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha have isolated themselves as a precautionary measure. He further added, 'Akshay has spoken to the 'Ram Setu' officials and asked if all in question have been tested. Also, he has told them to look into each and every team member's welfare'. Bollywood actor Akshay, who is also one of the most loved and followed celebrities on social media issued a statement that read, “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care of. Back in action very soon!'.
