Puducherry, Apr 6 (UNI) Brisk voting was reported in Puducherry for 30 Assembly seats with about three percent of the total 10,03,840 electorate have exercised their franchise in the first one hour of polling.
Long queues were seen in front of many booths.
It is assumed that people preferred to exercise their franchise in the morning itself due to the scorching heat by noon.
Former Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and N R Congress President N Rangaswamy were among others who cast their votes in the initial hours.
While, Mr Narayanasamy cast his vote at the PWD office on Bussy street and Rangasamy exercised his franchise at a booth near to his house at Kadirkamam.
Polling at booth number 21 in Raj Bhavan constituency was stopped for a few minutes due to a technical snag in the EVM.
