Maruti Suzuki's production rises to 1.72 lakh units in March 2021

Passenger vehicles production at Maruti stood at 170,036 units in March 2021 against 91,602 units a year ago same month.

Maruti Suzuki's total production stood at 172,433 units in March 2021 compared to the production of 92,540 units in March 2020.

From the total, the passenger vehicles production at Maruti stood at 170,036 units in March 2021 against 91,602 units a year ago same month.

Under the passenger vehicles segment, production of utility vehicles (Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6, Jimny, OEM Model) rose to 32,421 units in March 2021 versus 15,203 units of March 2020. While production of Eeco stood at 11,891 units in March 2021 versus 6,545 units in March 2020.

Furthermore, in the compact segment (WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, OEM Model), the production stood at 95,186 units in March 2021 versus 50,078 units in March 2020.

In March 2021, the mini-cars segment (Alto, S-Presso) recorded production of 28,519 units in March 2021 compared to the production of 17,630 units in March 2020.

However, under the mid-size segment, the production dipped marginally to 2,019 units in March 2021 versus 2,146 units in March 2020.

Meanwhile, under the Light Commercial Vehicles segment, the production stood at 2,397 units in March 2021 against 938 units in March 2020.

The above production data also includes production from Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited and
vehicles manufactured for sale to other OEM.

At around 1.32 pm, Maruti Suzuki was trading at Rs6775.85 per piece marginally higher compared to the previous closing on Sensex.
