New Delhi: The government on Tuesday appointed Ajay Seth, a 1987 batch Karnataka cadre Indian Administrative Service officer as the new Economic Affairs Secretary in the finance ministry.
Seth is presently serving as the Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BRMCL).
According to a Department of Personnel and Training notification, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the shifting of current Economic Affairs Secretary Tarun Bajaj to the Revenue department.
Bajaj has been handling the additional charge of the revenue department after Ajay Bhushan Pandey retired in February.
Jatindra Nath Swain, Managing Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd., Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.
Jivesh Nandan, Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence has been posted as Special Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.
Gyanesh Kumar has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
Ali Raza Rizvi, serving as Special Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been transferred as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
