Mamelodi Sundowns have the chance in Tuesday's clash against TTM to match the longest-ever unbeaten run of 19 games since the start of a PSL season set by Stuart Baxter's Kaizer Chiefs side in the 2014/15 season.
Sundowns remain the only unbeaten side this season going 18 games so far without tasting defeat and have a chance to match that long-standing record.
Sundowns have also not lost in 27 games in all competitions having reached the latter stages of the Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League.
"The players are in the right place and the preparations have been going well," head coach Rhulani Mokwena said.
"We are moving into the game against TTM at the back of a Champions League encounter played the Champions League way.
"Any other result for Sundowns except a win is a defeat. We are going into this game knowing that we must win it and have enough motivation to win it. We are focused and have a responsibility to the Mamelodi Sundowns institution to come out with a very good result.
"We are optimistic and we carry with us the hopes and dreams of many Masandawanas. We are in a good space and we are looking forward to a good match.
"Profiling TTM has not been very easy because, with Dylan Kerr coming in, there has been a couple of changes but we have been able to do our homework on them. They have a very good attack that has different personalities."
