Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 6 (UNI) Around 74.02 per cent of more than 2.74 crore electorate exercised their franchise in the single phase Assembly election for 140 seats in Kerala on Tuesday.
Kannur district recorded the highest voter turnout at 77.8 percent while Pathanamthitta recorded the lowest turnout at 67.1 per cent.
The polling percentage in Ernakulam district is 74 per cent, Kollam 73, Thrissur 73.7, Alappuzha 74.4, Kottayam 72.1, Palakkad 76.1, Malappuram 74, Idukki 70.3, Wayanad 74.7, Kozhikode 78.3, and Kasaragod 74.8.
This is also to be noted that Kerala recorded 77.53 percent turnout during the 2016 Assembly elections. The counting of the votes will be held on May 2.
