Asian stock markets ended mostly lower on Tuesday amid cautious trading, as worries about rising coronavirus cases and extension of lockdown restrictions are weighing on the markets. The cues overnight from Wall Street were broadly positive. Asian stocks ended mixed in thin holiday trading on Monday.
Overnight, US stocks saw superb start to the week with indices on fire as Dow Jones gains over 370 points to hit fresh new all-time highs. Nasdaq joined the rally with 1.5% jump as Microsoft & Google hit fresh new highs.
Asian markets opened mixed with most indices closed on Monday & the Japanese Nikkei saw some consolidation above 30000, trading marginally lower. Nikkei eventually closed 392.62 points or 1.30% lower. SGX Nifty traded flat while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was closed.
Shanghai Composite and Korean Kospi closed on a flat note while Shenzhen ended marginally lower. On the contrary Taiwan advanced 1.02%.
