Man caught, charged in grandfather's slaying
Apr. 5—RANDOLPH COUNTY — A 25-year-old man accused of killing his grandfather early Saturday was arrested Sunday in the Charlotte area.
Brian Cody King of Asheboro was caught at a hotel in Cornelius, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office said. He had fled Randolph County early Saturday morning after his grandfather, Harold Stephen King, 74, was found apparently stabbed to death at his home on Emmanuel Church Road in Asheboro.
Brian King was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served an arrest warrant for felony murder, the sheriff's office said. He was being held with no bond allowed.
During the booking process, officers found methamphetamine in his possession.
