South African Football Coaches Association (SAFCA) president Gregory Mashilo has slammed the hiring of controversial tactician Luc Eymael as technical director at Chippa United by club owner Siviwe Mpengesi.

Eymael has been brought in after Dan Malesela was sacked for a fourth time by Mpengesi as Chilli Boys head coach, with Siyabulela Gwambi to take the reins as interim head coach.

"The club would like to formally announce that it has amicably parted ways with Dan Malesela," read a statement from the Gqeberha-based club.

"Assistant coach Siyabulela Gwambi will fill in as interim coach. Well-travelled Belgian Luc Eymael will form part of the club in a Technical Advisor role.

Eymael's appointment is very controversial after he was given the boot by Tanzanian side Young Africans after he allegedly labelled the club's supporters and fans as 'monkeys and dogs'

SAFCA head Gregory Mashilo says his organisation want the South African Football Association to reject any request from Eymael to work in the PSL.

"I don't know what to say about Chippa; I feel they undermine South African football and all efforts by FIFA of fighting inequality in our football," Mashilo told Soccer Laduma.

"It's a shame, it's beyond us now, and we hope authorities of football will stop this from happening; it's against our constitution.

"Right now, there's a FIFA campaign to fight against racism, and you have a team hiring someone who has made racist remarks. It's a disgrace and must be stopped."
