NEW DELHI: PM Modi on Monday endorsed the film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, based on the the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), and said the film dealt with an “important topic” which more people must know about.
Reacting to a tweet of actor Ranganathan Madhavan, who plays the lead role of Narayanan in the film and is also its director, the PM tweeted, “Happy to have met you and the brilliant Nambi Narayananji. This film covers an important topic, which more people must know about. Our scientists and technicians have made great sacrifices for our country, glimpses of which I could see in the clips of Rocketry.”
Madhavan had earlier tweeted, “A few weeks ago, Nambi Narayananji and I had the honour of calling on PM Modi. We spoke on the upcoming film Rocketry and were touched and honoured by the PM’s reaction to the clips and concern for Nambiji and the wrong done to him. Thank you for the privilege sir.” The film’s trailer, released on April 1, shows Narayanan’s hardships after he was accused of espionage.
