Nifty Auto tracks markets bull, index surges 1%; Tata Motors, M&M, Bosch lift the performance

The index was lifted by Tata Motors being the top performer surging by 1.93%.

Nifty auto stocks were in the fast lane lifting overall markets during Tuesday's trading session. The Nifty Auto has outperformed the benchmark Nifty 50 after the companies presented their March sales data in the first week of this month.

At around 11.32 AM, Nifty Auto performs at 9,854.45 up by 57.40 points or 0.88%. The index has touched an intraday high of 9,881.20 in the early hours and intraday low of 9,759.69.

The index was lifted by Tata Motors being the top performer surging by 1.93% as Tata Motors completes sale of its Defense business to Tata Advanced Systems Limited.

Accordingly, gainers list on Nifty Auto was led by Bosch surging by 1.48% followed by Mahindra & Mahindra up 2.4%. Nearly 1% rise each was recorded in Eicher Motors and Maruti stocks.

Exide was 1.80% on the upside at Rs183.60 per piece. Bajaj Auto advanced 0.43% at Rs3,613 per piece.

Hero Motocorp, Amara Raja Batteries, MRF
 was trading marginally up between 0-0.5%. Hero MotoCorp sold 576,957 units of motorcycles and scooters in March 2021, registering a growth of 72%.

However, heavywights like Bharat Forge, TVS Motor joined the markets bear during the trading session.

Bharat Forge and Ashok Leyland slipped 0.01% where TVS Motor shed 0.50% at Rs581.30 per piece.

Motherson Sumi was also trading in the red by 0.74%.

Bal Krishna Industries was the top underperformer of the day tumbling nearly1% at Rs1,635.75 per piece.
