Summers are here in full swing, and it's time to set up your summer wardrobe for the year. A complete wardrobe must have a mix of dresses, cool shirts, tops, skirt, shorts, resort wear and some saris. While we know you must've figured out the initial bits, we think saris deserve special attention.
With the way COVID-19 cases are rising, it seems another summer is going to spent at home, but that doesn't mean you can't look your stylish best. Well, let's just get over the pyjamas for once and move towards more stylish home-wear. And saris can definitely be your quarantine outfit for the season. Well, why not? They are breezy and beautiful. And, if you are wondering which saris to pick up this summer, we list out some must-follow summer sari trends for 2021.

The summer sari fabrics
According to Anirudh Kankatala, Director, Kankatala Sarees, "Lightweight fabrics are most popular during summer. For everyday occasions, one can pick up anything from organza, Kota, chanderi, and linens as they are lightweight and breezy. Sari connoisseurs also opt for cotton saris in handspun Khadi, Kanchi, Mangalgiri, Venkatgiri, etc."

If you have a wedding coming up in the family, you can opt for Kota and Khadi Jamdanis, suggests Kankatala.


The perfect hues

The sari specialist feels one should focus on lighter shades as they don't attract a lot of heat. "Customers also prefer pastel shades such as light pinks, blues, yellows, and few others. The popular patterns during summers vary from floral and bright prints in pastel, and bright colours as they give out a spring vibe," adds Kankatala.


Organza

The thin, plain weave sheer fabric is back with a bang. As per Kankatala, there is an increase in demand for organzas in summer as they are lightweight and easy to carry! Simple organza printed, embroideries are popular. And, organza as a material is being used even on traditional looms such as Kanchipuram & Banarasis, for lighter weight options.
