Lone LJP MLA joins JD( U) in Bihar

Patna, Apr 6 (UNI) The lone MLA of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) from Matihani Raj Kumar Singh joined JD(U) here on Tuesday.
After Mr Singh joined JD(U), the speaker of state assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha recognised merger of LJP with JD(U) and with this Mr Singh will be recognised as JD(U) member in the lower house.
Earlier LJP had contested the last assembly election in 2020 at its own with an intention to defeat JD( U) but only Mr Singh of LJP was able to win the election from Matihani.
Later Mr Singh became close to JD( U) and had voted in favour of JD( U) candidate Maheshwar Hazari during election of the deputy speaker for the lower house during budget session . LJP had even served notice to Mr Singh for his action.
The LJP is devoid of its representatives in the state legislative council also as the party's lone MLC Nutan Singh had earlier joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
