Suzuki Hayabusa is coming back, and it’s not bigger than ever. In fact, it produces less power and torque, is a bit lighter in terms of weight and is no longer the “widowmaker” that people remember from the ’90s.
In fact, the new Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 features a ton of new tech that makes it easy to ride in everyday conditions. The new bike does not aim for top speed but reliability and riding experience. It does not mean that the Suzuki Hayabusa is slow by any means. It’ll still go from 0-100 km/h faster than you can say “Woah.”
So here’s everything you need to know about the 3rd gen Suzuki Hayabusa.
1. Updates design
There’s not much to say about the design other than the fact that it looks new but resembles the past. The cowl design is slightly updated, the bike also has a bit of chrome, and the overall silhouette now feels more well defined than previous generations.
2. Better Low And Mid-Range Performance
In terms of performance, the Suzuki Hayabusa makes less max HP and torque than the previous generation. However, acceleration and power delivery have taken centre stage. Thanks to a 1mm reduction in the throttle body’s inner diameter and a 12mm extension in the overall intake pipe, the power delivery in low and mid-range have been improved.
3. Stylema Brakes
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa features the top-spec Stylema brakes that are known for their cooling performance. The new brakes keep the pistons and brake pads at an optimum temperature and thus delivers better performance.
4. Stable And Easy To Ride
The new ‘Busa weighs around 264 kg making it quite heavy, but it rides ever so easily no matter the type of roads thanks to a slew of rider aids.
5. New Electronics
The last-gen Hayabusa had no rider-assist features, and some argue that their absence was a part of the bike’s charm. Nonetheless, the new Hayabusa comes with a slew of rider electronics, including an IMU, 10 level traction control, 6 riding modes, 3 level power selector, 10 level wheelie control, 3 level engine brake control. The bike comes with three factory-defined presets and three custom presets for the user to choose from.
6. New Equipments
For quick-shifting, the new Hayabusa comes with a bi-directional quick shifter, and for effective braking, it features cornering ABS. Hill hold assist its introduction on the 2021 Hayabusa, one of the most helpful features allowing riders to scale mountains easily.
Other stuff on the list includes a Combined Braking System or CBS, Ride-By-Wire tech, SCAS for easy clutch operation and a 2-stage catalytic converter making the bike EURO 5 or BS6 compliant.
The new Hayabusa still features the old twin-spar aluminium frame offering the rider the same sport touring rider triangle for which the bike is famous.
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa will launch in the second quarter of 2021. There is no word on the pricing, but the bike will most likely land around a sub Rs. 20 lakh price tag in India.
