Mauled body of 4-year-old boy recovered in Kulgam forest after 7 days

Srinagar, Apr 6 (UNI) Mauled body of a 4-year-old boy, who went missing after a leopard attack in Kulgam district last week, was recovered from the forest area in south Kashmir.

Official sources said the minor boy, identified as Nazakat Hussain, went missing from his residence at around 2100 hrs on March 31 at Chowgam in Kulgam.

They said it is suspected that the minor was attacked and taken away by a wild animal as blood was found in the adjoining forest area. ''After strenuous efforts, a team of wildlife department and police found the partly-eaten body of the minor from the bushes in the forest adjacent to this village,'' they said.

They said after completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
