Devendra Fadnavis slams CM’s ‘shocking’ silence

MUMBAI: Maharashtra opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis on Monday questioned the silence of CM Uddhav Thackeray on the issue of corruption allegations against Anil Deshmukh. “It is shocking that the CM continues to remain quiet…The CM’s last reaction was: ‘Is Waze (Osama bin) Laden?’ To save his government, the CM has been making all kinds of compromises... The CM must admit to the people that a mistake has been made.”
He added, “We expect that the CBI inquiry will expose and stop the ‘maha vasooli’ ways of this MVA government.” He alleged that the police were being used as a private force for extortion by the government.
Fadnavis said he was satisfied that the court had taken cognisance of the allegations he made with proof.
He said the MVA government doesn’t have the mandate of the people. “The government has been formed by betraying the people’s mandate. This is an auto-rickshaw government with leaders of all the three parties considering the government as their own fiefdom. Each minister considers himself as CM. People are now realising what I was saying is true,” Fadnavis claimed.
