“The real place to be is assets on the real estate side. I am extremely bullish on stocks like Godrej and DLF,” says , Director, .

What do you think will lead the markets higher now and the overall trends?
Three things. A), We have seen the US numbers on the job side. They have learnt to live with Covid and businesses have responded. B) Bond yields have started to fall after hitting a high of 1.75%. C)The US dollar has started to edge lower and for us the issue of the RBI being dovish is already there.

Now there is a scenario where the headline numbers are changing again because of the second Covid wave. This will be just a passing storm. Already 40 lakh people have got vaccinated and by the end of June, most Indians will be vaccinated. So give it some time. There have been some partial lockdowns as two-week lockdowns have gained credence. But this is the last buying opportunity we have because the businesses which will rebound after these two weeks will be humongous. I am very sure that with election outcomes and the other aspects, May will see a new high on the Nifty. This is the last opportunity to rebuild your portfolio. I am extremely positive on the broader market and I think outperformance will come.

The fourth quarter operational updates of lenders, real estate companies like Sobha, Adani Ports have started coming in. Have you got a sense of what Q4 could entail for corporate India on the earnings side?
First of all, real estate sales are hitting new highs. They did not hit those highs in the last three years -- be it Godrej, DLF, Sobha or Oberoi. That tells us that the real place to be is assets on the real estate side. I am extremely bullish on stocks like Godrej and DLF. Godrej has just raised money. They are buying land parcels and developing instead of their earlier practice of just execution. They have changed their business model because they are seeing low cost of money and the visibility going into the next two-three years. Secondly, has given an update where the asset under management is a record high.

today came out with numbers and said the CASA ratios were the strongest in 18 quarters. So either I believe the managements and I put my money where my mouth is or I go by the fear mongers who are constantly going to have this edge between fear and greed. This is the time to be greedy rather than fearful.

Be greedy or fearful but don't be stupid. First of all, India got 60 lakhs people vaccinated with single-dose and 10 lakhs with a second dose not 40 lakhs as he states.
1. Indian government's aggressive target is to vaccinate 25 crore people by end of July. I fail to understand that can be treated as " by the end of June, most Indians will be vaccinated"
2. Current USA bond yield is at 1.7% - uncomfortably close to the 52W high. In fact, many people think that it might reach even 2.5% - an event that will have a major impact on equity markets too.
Even I am of the opinion that we should buy cyclical stocks - Realty/Banks during the dips but we should aware of the risk we take.
