Hyderabad: The city has seen a steady rise in mercury levels over the past few days. However, according to officials from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city may receive light showers before the rainfall in the coming days. According to the latest forecast, the city temperature could stay below 40 degrees Celsius, with partly cloudy skies for the next week.
“The next two to three days the temperatures will remain the same. After that, however, we can see light showers in different parts of the city, which will definitely lower the temperature, ”says Dr K Nagaratna, director of IMD-Hyderabad.
The IMD also issued a warning for a thunderstorm for some parts of Telangana from Tuesday. Heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning, is likely to occur in isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, Jagtial, Mancherial, Kamareddy, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Siddipet, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Warangal, Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
‘Currently there is a cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and neighboring states. A north-south trough also runs from the northern interior of Karnataka to the interior of Tamil Nadu, allowing some districts of Telangana to receive heavy rainfall for a few days, ‘said Dr. Nagaratna said, adding that the situation is the temperature in the State.
The highest maximum temperature of 41.3 degrees Celsius was recorded by the IMD from Adilabad on Tuesday, coupled with a forecast of 0.8 mm of rainfall.
