ThiruvananthapuramAt least 73.58 per cent of the total 2.74 crore voters voted for the state assembly according to a preliminary assessment when the vote came to an end in Kerala on Tuesday at 7pm, India’s Electoral Commission said .
The massive exercise that follows COVID-19 a health protocol involving more than two voting officers started at 07:00 and the last hour from 18:00 to 19:00 was set aside COVID-19 patients and those under isolation.
According to the ECI, 73.69 per cent of male voters, 73.48 per cent of female voters and 37.37 per cent of transgender voters used their franchise according to the preliminary assessment up to 18.55 nm. The state was large until the afternoon, but incessant rain in the center of Kerala later reduced the footing.
Ballot boxes were held for 140 rallies in Kerala in 40,771 polling stations in the state.
