Delhi HC refutes notice circulating on social media claiming exclusive virtual hearing

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Tuesday stated that there has been no decision on conducting only virtual hearings in the wake of rising Coronavirus cases in the national capital.

The clarification of the Court came after a notice being circulated on social media saying its functioning would be held exclusively online mode from April 6 to April 17.

"This notice has not been issued by the Delhi High Court," Registrar General of Delhi High Court Manoj Kumar Jain said.

The High Court had resumed the physical hearing from March 15, 2021.

However, the court had given a choice of virtual or hybrid proceedings as per the request of advocates.

On March 16, 2020 soon after the pandemic broke out in the country, the functioning of the Delhi HC was restricted and had been holding video conferencing hearings from March 25 last year.
