South Korean textile firm Youngone will start operations within six months at Warangal’s Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Telangana state, providing jobs to 12,000. In a recent video conference with state information technology minister KT Rama Rao and panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Youngone chairman and chief executive officer Ki-Hak Sung reiterated his company’s plan of making five of their units functional in six months.
Another three factories will be taken up later in phase-II, Ki-Hak said.
Though the factories were scheduled to be operational by early this year, the pandemic delayed project, he said, adding that the company would make Warangal its operating base for the country, according to media reports from the state.
Dayakar Rao appealed to KT Rama Rao to provide skill development programmes for the state’s youth to make them industry-ready and secure jobs at the factories.
