About 832 companies of central armed forces to man the 3rd phase Bengal poll for 31 seats on Tuesday

Kolkata, Apr 5 (UNI) About 832 companies of Central armed forces to be
deployed for maintaining law and order situation during the 3rd phase poll which would see an electoral battle for 31 seats spreading into three districts in parts of South 24 Parganas, Howrah and Hooghly in West Bengal.
A total number of 78,52,425 voters are expected to exercise their
voting rights at 10,871 polling stations in the districts
in the third phase of polling to be held between 7 am to 6 pm.
Of the 832 companies of para-military forces in the deployment, 618
companies to be in the polling booths, an official said today.
Of the total some 144 companies to guard the polling booths in Howrah
district and another 167 companies to be in the neighbouring Hooghly
district and about 307 companies to be in South 24 Parganas polling booths.
Of the 307 companies in South 24 Parganas, 130 companies to be in
Baruipur region, 113 in the Diamond Harbour and 64 companies in Sundarbans.
