Bhadrachalam (Kothagudem): Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Devasthanam started building a Goshala here called ‘Srigokularamam’ in approximately 104.19 hectares of temple land for the protection of cows.
The Goshala is built at Purushottapatnam of the Yetapaka Mandal in the East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, near the temple city of Bhadrachalam. It is planned to develop the Gokularamam as a religious, tourist and leisure center.
Steps will be taken to ensure that the devotees who visit the Bhadradri temple to visit Darshan of Lord Rama visit the Srigokularamam in addition to Parnasala near Bhadrachalam, Devastham officials said.
‘Bhadrachala Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Vari Devastham Gosamrakshana and Vanasamrakshana Trust’ was registered for the establishment of Srigokularamam and obtained permanent account number (PAN) and tax deduction and collection account number (TAN) cards from the IT department.
An application has been submitted to the Department of Income Tax (IT) to utilize tax exemption in terms of section 80 (G) of the Income Tax Act for the donations made by the devotees to the Goshala.
The Song of the Temple, V Sravan Kumar, spoke on Monday on Telangana that the works related to the main entrance arch and a barn that can accommodate about 24 cows have been completed so far.
It is currently planned to build 12 cattle pens and the number of barns will be increased based on future requirements. A 6-meter statue of Lord Krishna will be installed at Srigokularamam to create a spiritual atmosphere at the Goshala, he said.
In addition, a large amount of land was devoted to the development of ‘Nakshatra Vanam’, ‘Rasi Vanam’, ‘Tulasi Vanam’, ‘Vasantha Mandapam’ and a children’s park on the site of Srigokularamam, Sravan Kumar revealed.
In addition, steps are being taken to develop a tank spread across the land of one and a half acres in the area and cultivate fodder to feed the cows at Srigokularamam. After completion of the works, cows now being cared for in a Goshala at the Bhadrachalam temple will be moved to the new plant, he added.
It may be recalled that in May last year, the authorities made a special effort to protect the temple lands raided in Khammam and AP. Eviction notices were served to those who built houses on the temple grounds at Purushottapatnam to reclaim the lands.
