Kaizer Chiefs legend Robson Muchichwa has backed calls for Samir Nurkovic and Gaston Sirino to represent Bafana Bafana.
Last week, Chiefs striker Nurkovic admitted he would be 'very keen' to play for Bafana while Mamelodi Sundowns forward Sirino has long been linked with donning the colours of the national team.
"It's time we swallow the pride and try to accommodate these foreign players... there are also players in Africa who are dying to play for South Africa," said Muchichwa.
"There are also players in Africa who are dying to play for South Africa.
"So players in South Africa need to realise all the opportunities they are having. Like now Zimbabwe have qualified but they are not even playing the league, there's nothing happening there, everything is zero. They would die for such opportunities."
Muchichwa, too, would have been able to represent Bafana, but instead excelled for Zimbabwe and was overlooked for SA representation.
And when asked if he would have liked to play for Bafana, the former midfielder responded: "Definitely my brother, definitely!"
"It's like representing England... I mean they've got everything you know, all the football. So yeah for me that thing didn't happen but you can't change it you know."
