Jodhpur: About 65-70 people, including students, teachers and staff at Rajasthan’s IIT Jodhpur, tested positive for COVID-19 so far 60 of them are currently infected with the coronavirus, authorities said Sunday.
P Singh Deputy Chief Medical Officer (CMHO) said: ‘Around 11 March, some people became infected with COVID-19 came here. They were from tribal villages of Chandigarh, Gujarat and Jaipur. Then things started to increase. “Now almost 65-70 people have tested positive so far at Rajasthan’s IIT Jodhpur. Of which 55-60 cases are active. There is no serious matter. Block G3 on campus has been declared a micro-inclusion zone. “Most positive students come from their homes in Chandigarh, Gujarat and Jaipur,” he said.
‘We have increased the sampling so that contact detection can be done. “Teachers are much fewer, most of the infected patients are students,” he added.
‘Business is on the rise in Jodhpur. The police and medical department are ready. “Sampling has been increased, anyone coming from outside Jodhpur, whether it is an airport, bus stop or train station, is required to perform RT-CPR tests,” he added.
Rajasthan has 11,738 active COVID-19 cases, including 1 254 cases reported in the last 24 hours. The total number coronavirus deaths in the Union Territory reached 2,827 on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Family and Health Welfare, with three deaths.
