STSs for Liverpool port

UK port operator Peel Ports has ordered a further two 40 tonne Liebherr ship to shore container cranes for its port in Liverpool.

Scheduled for delivery early next year, the new cranes will replace two existing ship to shore cranes being relocated to Peel Ports’ Greenock Ocean Terminal at Clydeport. They offer an outreach and lift height of 40 metres, a span of 16.7 metres and a back reach of 18 metres. Features include the company’s simultaneous motions of all drives and mechanical antisway technologies as standard.
The two new cranes will join five Liebherr STS cranes operating at the port

The company says the cranes, which feature high tensile steel and a lattice boom and beams, were chosen due to the reduced wheel loadings they offer for the narrow quay.
