Prof Mohd Zafaruddin, senior faculty of MANUU has passed away

Hyderabad: Senior faculty of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), prof. Mohd Zafaruddin, died on Monday of a heart attack. He was one of the earliest employees of the university. He is survived by his wife, dr. Mosarrat Jahan, Associate Professor, Department of Urdu, MANUU, a daughter and two sons.

Prof. Zafaruddin joined MANUU on 16 March 1998 as Assistant Liaison Officer. He was appointed reader of the translation department on 13 September 2004 and later appointed professor, department of translation on 4 March 2008.

He served in various capacities: dean (School of Languages), principal (Dept. of Translation), lawyer, director I / c (Directorate of Translation and Publication) and was still a member of the executive and academic boards of MANUU. An online consolation meeting was also held at the university on Monday.

Prof. Khazi Ziaulla (Bangalore), prof. Syed Alim Ashraf, prof. Shahid Naukhez Azmi and prof. Fahim Akhtar also expressed their condolences. A large number of MANUU fraternities from across the country joined the online meeting and expressed their condolences. SM Rahmatullah, Vice-Chancellor, and prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, chief registrar, recalls the invaluable services of prof. Zafaruddin to MANUU and visits his family to express their condolences.
