Zendaya expresses Lola Bunny’s character in ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’

Washington [US]: American singer-actor Zendaya has been hired to play the character of Lola Bunny in the upcoming film ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’. According to Variety, the news was confirmed Saturday through the film’s official Twitter account. “Welcome to the Jam, @Zendaya, (sic)” reads the tweet, along with a basketball emoji and a poison from Lola Bunny. Entertainment Weekly was the first to report the film news.

In 1996, the original ‘Space Jam’ is released which sees Lola Bunny as Bugs Bunny’s girlfriend showcasing her basketball skills. Lola is almost injured in the last basketball game, and the Bugs come to her rescue. As reported by Variety, ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’, which dropped its first trailer on Saturday morning, will be released on July 16 both in theaters and on HBO Max in the US.

Variety reported that the cast also includes Khris Davis, Sonequa Martin-Green and Cedric Joe. Many NBA and WNBA players will star in the film, including Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike.
