Hyderabad: A 30-year-old man was killed in a road accident in Madhapur early on Monday, allegedly an incident of drunk driving. According to police, the victim, Rakesh Verma, 30, was traveling with his friend B Raghava Chowdhary on a motorcycle from Madhapur to Borabanda.
‘Chowdhary was riding in a drunken state on the bike while Verma was riding the car. “While crossing the Ayyappa crossing, Chowdhary skipped the traffic signal and hit a scooter with three people on board,” Madhapur police said, adding that all five people sustained serious injuries during the collision and was rushed to a nearby private hospital by police. Verma died while being treated. Police have registered a case against Chowdhary and an investigation is underway.
