The report on the beautification of the Musi River project will be completed by September

Hyderabad: The state government of Telangana is working to beautify the Musi River on an equal footing with the Narmada River in Gujarat.

The state government also approved Rs. 200 crores for the beautification project and the Musi River Front Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) is working on the detailed project report.

Officials said the debris would be removed and plants would be erected in the surrounding areas.

An uptake was done using a drone and buffer zones were marked to rise on both sides of the river over 50 meters.

MRDCL officials said the detailed project report would be completed by August-September. The cost of the beautification project is estimated to be between 8000-10000 million and it will include east-west corridor bridge.

Currently, sewage is flowing into the river and according to the long-term plans, MRDCL is setting up sewage plants to restrict the flow of dark and untreated water into the river.

It can be mentioned that the Musi River originates in the Vikarabad district, Telangana near the Ananthagiri hills, and 50 km from the river flows through the city.
