HYDERABAD: The Congress has demanded that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should ensure that all those families in Gudi Tanda village of Sanga Reddy mandal, who are losing their properties for the development and expansion of the highway project should be given proper compensation.
Sanga Reddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy of the Congress while extending support to the villagers of Gudi Tanda, threatened to stage a dharna on the highway along with Tanda villagers if the government failed to come out with an impressive rehabilitation package for the people being affected by the project.
“The officials have given an April 15 deadline for owners of 27 houses in Tanda. Also, the government is offering only Rs 3 lakh compensation in lieu of the land and their houses as against the actual value of it being Rs 40 lakh each,” Jayaprakash Reddy said.
As the MLA of Sanga Reddy Assembly constituency, he demanded that the government should give 200 square yards of plot to each of the affected families and also give Rs 10 lakh each for construction of houses.
“CM KCR, Finance Minister T Harish Rao, Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao should respond on this issue. KTR should intervene as the highway project passing through Tanda falls under HMDA limits,” Jayaprakash Reddy said.
