Thread: America pretending to care about Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang is an embarrassment

We can all agree that America slapping sanctions on China fits nicely into realist international theory, due it's falling status on the international level, but how cringe is it that they use this small religious community, in Central Asia, the American government doesn't care about, to justify application of sanctions? lol.

Trump's platform was pretty much standard GOP anti-islam stuff, and General Biden orchestrated regional civil war between the Sunni's and the Shias all throughout the ME with Lord Obama.

I mean, I guess America has to keep up with the charade of "defender of human rights", but for anyone who mildly keeps up with geopolitical events, they can't help but grin when reading this type of nonsense.

Why not just have some balls and admit that China is a competitor to global hegemony, and use the national security excuse, instead of lying? I cringe every time I see the word Uighur in the news.

I personally don't care as if I was emotionally moved by every injustice in this world I wouldn't be able to function on a day to day basis.
