RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal tests Covid positive

Chennai: Devdutt Padikkal, opener of Royal Challengers in Bangalore, tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday, ahead of their IPL opening camp against Mumbai Indians to be held on April 9th.
The Karnataka cricketer is now in quarantine and is likely to miss the season opener.

The left-handed batsman scored a good score for the team last season with 473 runs. He is also in great form in the domestic season in the Vijay Hazare tournament with more than 700 runs. He also hit the tournament four consecutive centuries.

The Cricket Control Board of India is currently in crisis management following Corona scare, which had one of the players from Delhi Capitals – Axar Patel and ten ground staff at Wankhede test positive for the Pandemic. Although Indore and Hyderabad are ready for the start of the starting channel, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is likely to get the match as planned.
