Taiwan to establish Digital Development Ministry

Taiwan's Cabinet has announced plans to establish a Ministry of Digital Development in the first quarter of 2022. The new ministry will focus on upgrading information security and encouraging industrial growth, Focus Taiwan reports, citing the country's minister without portfolio Kuo Yau-hwang. He will lead the establishment of the new ministry, said Premier Su Tseng-chang. The new ministry is expected to bring together portfolios such as telecommunications, information security, and internet communications.
