And so, Hanno came forth and his eyes beheld the world!
And so, the peoples, seeing Hanno, screamed "Hanno cometh!"

It’s a racket. The universities are going to learn very soon (if not already) that incoming generations will not be willing to shell out tens of thousands of dollars each year for their worthless accreditation. People are more than able to self-educate, especially in the digital world. If one is driven to succeed on their own, there is nothing a college degree can offer them that they’re unable to obtain through sheer determination.
Society is shifting towards an entrepreneurial, self-driven oriented measure of success. Notice how 30-40% of Zoomers are already interested in starting online businesses and investing? Their role models are multi-millionaire YouTubers, Instagram influencers and TikTok stars who flaunt their multiple streams of income while living life on easy mode. The tools to both entertain and teach are at every young person’s fingertips. These are the people who will strip colleges of their merit. The pandemic has only accelerated this process as enrollment rates are down roughly 3% for the last two semesters in a row. Expect this to hit double digits by 2025.

It’s easier - you get the structure, the community, the certificate.
From an education standpoint there is little to no reason to go to college. Excluding professions like doctors or lawyers.
You can use tutors and free materials to get a foundation and then self learn to a much higher level.
You can build an online portfolio of projects/work.
Hardest part will be getting that first job, but if you build up good references from professors/professionals/etc you can get there.
Smart employers are impressed by the ability to self manage and learn, which is exactly what you demonstrate by going down that road.
Won’t be easy but it’s doable.
Degrees are overrated
