IPL 2021: Now Punjab Kings also have a Kieron Pollard in their team, check out

IPL 2021: Punjab Kings (RCB) coach Anil Kumble has declared that there is a player in his team who hits the ball like Kieron Pollard. This player, Tamil Nadu’s Shahrukh Khan, may well be the find of the season and the player to watch out for in the IPL 2021.

“Yes, he reminds me a bit of, Pollard actually,” Kumble says with a smile in the video. “When I was with Mumbai Indians, Pollard, in the nets, was dangerous. Here, I am not even trying…I am not going to bowl to Shahrukh, for sure.”

Shahrukh Khan is a name most Indians are familiar with. But if Indian legend Anil Kumble is to be believed, soon this name may not remind his team’s fans of just a Bollywood actor, but also a rising star in his team.

Shahrukh Khan is a 25-year old batsman from Tamil Nadu who attracted a big bid from Punjab Kings in the latest IPL 2021 auction. The renamed side, led by KL Rahul, bought the relatively unknown cricketer for Rs 5.25 crore.

Now, in a video uploaded on the Twitter page of his team, Anil Kumble has stated that Shahrukh reminded him of Kieron Pollard. The reason for this is the fact that the Indian legend felt as much danger from a ball hit back towards him by Shahrukh as he did when, during his stint for Mumbai Indians, he felt from a shot by Pollard.

Shahrukh himself talks about the experience of seeing him bought for such a big amount. In the video, the articulate batsman from Tamil Nadu talks about the excitement of seeing the bids for him in the auction going higher and higher.

The Tamil Nadu batter played a key role in his team’s victory in the latest edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This made him a big attraction for all teams. It also led to a lot of comments on social media about how there are two Shahrukh’s now associated with IPL – the other being the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders.

With all this fanfare, fans can look forward to some big hitting from Shahrukh in the season opener on April 9 at Chennai.
