Jagtial: In the aftermath of injection into Covid-19 cases, Sirpur gram panchayat in Mallapur mandal of the district ‘locked’ in the village from Sunday to April 15.
The gram panchayat made a unanimous decision on Saturday after several people, who attended a funeral two weeks ago, tested positive for Covid-19. The district’s medical authorities conducted tests on all the residents of the town in a medical camp as the number of cases in the town increased. So far, 27 villagers have tested positive for coronavirus.
With the increase in the number of cases, the village sarp Bukya Govind asked for an emergency meeting for gram panchayat and adopted a resolution.
It was decided that hotels, tiffin centers and hairdressers would remain closed until 15 April. Clothing stores, engineering and electrical stores, fertilizer stores and kirana stores may open twice a day – from 6 to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. until 21:00 – for the convenience of the public.
The gram panchayat instructed store owners to entertain people who are not wearing masks and fine Rs 1000 fine if anyone violates the panchayat resolution.
Gram panchayat asked the residents not to risk the people without masks, and advised the residents not to gather in groups in public places like water tanks, bus stop and other areas.
