Odisha DGP appeals to Maoists to leave violence, join mainstream

Bhubaneswar, Apr 04 (UNI) Odisha Director General of Police Abhaya today appealed to the Maoist cadres to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream for the peaceful development of the areas through democratic means.
Mr Abhay, toured the district Police Headquarters of Malkangiri, Koraput and Kandhamal today and reviewed the crime situation and LWE scenario with senior Police officers of Odisha Police and other agencies.
He reviewed the overall LWE scenario and commended the achievements made in successfully countering the Maoist menace.
The DGP appealed to the Maoists to surrender and create a safe and secure environment for facilitating development works in Swabhiman Anchal on an unprecedented scale.
Mr Abhaya once again also commended Malkangiri Police for the great effort taken in successfully and peacefully establishing Jodambo PS and COBs at Hantaguda, newly built SDPO office building at MV-2, Malkangiri.
