Thane, Apr 4 (UNI) Amid the massive surge in novel coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, Minister for Urban Development and Guardian Minister of Thane District, has said that necessary measures will be taken to provide beds and ambulances to the Covid patients.
Speaking at inaugural function of 72-bed Covid dedicated health centre at Kalamboli in Panvel and its transfer to Panvel Municipal Corporation on Saturday through video conference, he further said that the state government will extend full cooperation to provide the necessary facilities.
The minister said, “The rapid increase in the number of patients in Covid is a matter of great concern. CIDCO has done a great job in setting up this hospital. It was thought that this hospital would not be needed but unfortunately, another wave of Covid has risen. More facilities are being considered for Covid patients. The people's representatives and the administration need to work together to overcome this crisis and the citizens also need to cooperate.”
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar responded positively to the demand for more funding for Covid hospitals through DPDC, he informed.
Mr Shinde promised to provide all the necessary facilities to the Municipal Corporation through CIDCO and Urban Development Department and appealed the people to be vigilant.
