IPL 2021: CSK’s Josh Hazlewood pulls out, check out 4 replacements for IPL 2021- With just a week left for the IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings and Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood has pulled out the cash-rich league. The CSK squad does not enough bowlers who can cloak a speed of 140 in the IPL 2021. MS Dhoni-led CSK will play their opening leg matches in Mumbai (5) where the fast bowlers need to perform well. In such a case, they need a quick replacement for Hazlewood. Here we provide you with three potential replacements who have previous experience of playing in the IPL but gone unsold in February auctions. They are Tim Southee, Isuru Udana, Matt Henry and Sean Abbott owing to their recent form.
Tim Southee (New Zealand)
The New Zealand pace spearhead Tim Southee fares well among IPL 2021 unsold players. He has scalped 28 wickets in 40 IPL appearances. Besides, the base price of Kiwi pacer is only Rs 50 lakh. Besides this, Southee has scalped 15 wickets in the last 10 T20s.
Sean Abbott (Australia)
The Australia pacer Sean Abbott could be a perfect replacement for Josh Hazlewood. He has the potential to bowl 140 kmph deliveries and bouncers that trouble the batsmen. In 94 T20s, Abbott has scalped 115 wickets. However, he has played a couple of IPL matches and ended wicketless for RCB.
Matt Henry (New Zealand)
Another New Zealand pacer Matt Henry has been in tremendous form off-late. He has picked 19 wickets in the last 10 matches across all formats. He has bowled over 150 kmph on numerous occasions. He has played just 2 matches in IPL picking up just 1 wicket. He took 6 wickets in the recently concluded 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
Isuru Udana (Sri Lanka)
The Sri Lanka pacer had played 10 matches in which he scalped 8 wickets. Besides this, Udana has also played 30 T20Is for Sri Lanka. He has scalped 9 wickets in the last 10 matches in domestic cricket. His base in IPL 2021 auction was Rs 50 lakh.
Others in the list include Colin de Grandhomme, Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas but they have failed to do well despite plenty of matches in the IPL.
