Gurugram: Woman out to buy veggies hit by car, dies

GURUGRAM: Three people, including a woman, died in three different road accidents in Gurugram in the past 24 hours. In two cases, victims came under the wheel and died on the spot while in the third case, the woman died during treatment at a hospital.
In the first incident, Ramesh Salgotra, a resident of Sector 23, had gone to buy vegetables from the market with his wife Sunita.
“When Sunita was standing near a vegetable cart, a speeding Maruti Swift car hit her from behind leading to multiple fractures. We immediately took her to Columbia Asia Hospital where she died during treatment,” said Salgotra, adding that his wife died because of somebody else’s negligence.
A case was registered against the woman driving the car under Section 279 (Rash driving) and 304A (Death in accident) of the IPC with the Palam Vihar police.
In another case, Bhushan Sharma, a farmer, who was on his way to Madhya Pradesh on a tractor died after being hit by a speeding tanker on KMP Expressway.
A case was registered with the Farukhnagar police under Section 279 (Rash driving) and 304A (Death in accident) of IPC against the unknown driver of the oil tanker.
In the third case, a cleaner of a truck was killed in an accident in Manesar.
Police spokesperson Subhash Boken said that teams have been formed to investigate all the cases.
